Homework
Essentially you MUST fill your sketchbook during the course of this year. The assignments listed below need to be included in your sketchbook and should be completed on the schedule given. If you fall behind, you will have to spend a lot of time catching up when I do a sketchbook check in. The sketchbook checking will be random and you will have no warning. My advice is that you keep track of what you need to have done and when.
Week # Assignment
Draw your kitchen.
Pink! Use pink in a new way, subject, color, word… your solution is yours.
Find a leaf and use it
Find a piece of cardboard and turn it into a piece of art
An imaginative self- portrait
Collect all the garbage you create in a week (except the food). Clean it all up and create a piece of art using all the pieces.
Figure out another way to make art from garbage
Draw your friends – not posed.
May a list of concentration ideas – Concentration worksheet
Draw a tree or a shrub from nature (not your imagination)
Draw your feet
Draw your dream car
Look in a mirror and fill your page with words that describe yourself
Use the words you wrote about yourself to create a piece of art
Draw a toilet or bathroom sink
Draw with something you don’t consider to be an art material (makeup?)
Collect all of the work you have done (from any time past or present) and bring it to class. Sort them for the portfolio categories – edit the not so hot ones out.
Write your concentration statement draft. Give it to someone in the class to edit.
Rewrite your concentration statement. Give it to someone in the class to edit and check. Give it to the teacher when it is perfect.
